About OutTogether:
Q: What exactly is OutTogether? A: We're a community-based organization providing reentry support specifically for transgender and genderqueer people coming out of incarceration. We offer case management, mutual aid, and peer connection.
Q: Is OutTogether free? A: Yes. All our services are completely free.
Q: Do I have to identify a certain way to get help? A: If you identify as transgender or gender diverse in any way, you belong here.
Q: I live outside Seattle. Can you still help? A: Yes! We serve all of Washington State. Some services are virtual, some may require travel depending on your location.
Q: Are you connected to law enforcement or corrections? A: No. We're community-led and independent. We don't report to police, corrections, or supervision officers unless you explicitly ask us to help you communicate with them.
Getting Help:
Q: How do I get started? A: Contact Jeremy at Jeremy@OutTogetherReentry.org or (360) 602-2468.
Q: How fast will you respond? A: Within 24-48 hours. If it's urgent, call or text directly.
Q: I just got out yesterday and I'm in crisis. Can you help? A: Yes. Reach out immediately. We prioritize urgent situations.
Q: Do I have to be newly released to get help? A: No. If you have been released from incarceration within a year, we can help you.
Q: What if I miss appointments or don't follow through sometimes? A: That's okay. We get it. Life happens. Reentry is hard. No judgment. Just reconnect when you're ready.
Services & Support:
Q: What kind of support do you provide? A: Case management (housing, healthcare, IDs, benefits, employment), mutual aid (clothing, transportation, phones, emergency funds), and connection to peer community (support groups, social events).
Q: Do you require sobriety? A: No. We practice harm reduction and meet you where you are.
Q: Do you provide housing? A: We don't own housing, but we help you find it—applications, advocacy with landlords, connections to transgender-friendly providers, emergency shelter navigation.
Q: Can you help with name/gender marker changes? A: Yes! We can connect you with legal aid and help with the process.
Q: Do you help with employment? A: We provide job search support, resume help, and connections to transgender-friendly employers. We don't place people in jobs, but we help you navigate the search.
